Chuck Mathewson

Chuck lives in Campbell and has been with the company for 25 years. He comes from a racing family, where his father Walt was active in both SCCA and vintage racing for many years.

He works as a fabricator. He was involved in the fabrication of commercial videotape equipment for Merlin Engineering before he moved into the fabrication of race cars and equipment for Performance Racing of Mountain View.

He studies history in general, but especially mechanical history in fields such as aviation, marine, and industrial. He also spends time around the house doing landscaping, gardening, and home improvement.

Chuck started at age 19 as a sweep-up kid for Performance Racing where he began learning fabrication and welding. He was involved in building SCCA sedans and build cars for the IMSA RS, the Kelly American Challenge Series, and the SCCA Trans-Am series. He also built and maintained miscellaneous equiment, drove transporters, and crewed races throughout the U.S. and Canada.
